A normal distribution of data means that most of the elements in a data set are close to the “average.” Very few examples tend to one extreme or the other.
If you look at a graph of a normal distribution of data it would look like a “bell curve” similar to the one below.

The horizontal axis (the x-axis) is the value being analyzed. The vertical axis (the y-axis) is the number of data points for each value on the horizontal axis.
